Every child is born musical!

This totally explains the popularity and love of activities incorporating music, movement and dance to music and performances that involve music.

Join us on an exploration of these musical activities including some of the less obvious benefits of music - such as how it can help with job interviews!

A word from our sponsors to start us off

DanceBiz is thrilled to be the sponsor for the Music, Dance and Performing Arts day. We are extremely passionate about the arts industry and see every day just how hard you all work to ensure you are providing the best for your students.

These are industries that would not think twice when asked to help those in need and we're proud to help you all along the way. We try to follow in the industries footsteps and donate our time/money to help those that need it most whenever we can. We hope you all have lots of fun whilst doing what you love and raising money for such a worthy cause.

Music, dance and performing arts provide many benefits to the social and physical development in children. It contributes to creativity and imagination, helps develop communication and physical skills and allows kids to express themselves! Here are some fun musical games for kids to play:
•    What’s that sound? – a simple game where kids can learn about all sorts of musical instruments by identifying the sounds made in different pieces of music
•    Animal dancing – play some music, dance around, shout the name of an animal and the children must start dancing like that animal
•    Homemade drums – make and decorate your own drums made from old coffee containers and empty food tubs

Morton Michel are delighted to be a founding member of the Children's Activities Association and recognise the importance that kids' activity providers bring to a child's learning and development. Babies love music

Music is a universal language that everyone loves and understands, but did you know that it is the only activity that can stimulate and activate every part of your baby’s brain?

Contrary to common belief, every child is born musical and as parents all you have to do is nurture this innate ability.  In other words, it is your baby’s environment that will determine how musical they will become.

Making music with others is such a happy, joyful experience and there is no substitute for a child and parent taking part in a live music session. This is because you will both be experiencing music in the here and now and the benefits of being involved for both you and your baby are far reaching.

Dance for life

Dancing enhances natural development, emotional well-being and physical ability.

In particular, dance instills self-belief and improves confidence.

A fantastic mix of education and enjoyment that encourages freedom of expression whilst exploring one's imagination and creativity.

Dancing is a perfect way to increase a person’s social skills, alongside gross motor skills such as balance, coordination and self-control.

Perform now for the real world later!

With schools mainly focused on the core subjects, music and drama are falling off the curriculum but we know that the skills acquired through these subjects go way beyond performance.

Crucial for later life situations these include the ability to conquer an interview situation; conduct presentations; use eye contact; posture; confidence; push the boundaries of their comfort zone and effectively communicate in all situations both socially and in their future careers.

Rhythm Time was founded in 1995 and it’s since become the UK’s number one pre-school provider of developmental music classes. We deliver award winning, age appropriate music sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-school children across the UK.

Rhythm Time offers quality music courses specially written by a music teacher created to enhance and nurture a child’s development. We start with our Young Baby Courses for new-borns to 6 months and then we progress by providing classes for older babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers so we able to provide continuity for children throughout the early years until school age.

At Rhythm Time we’re passionate about music and how it can help enhance a child’s development.  All of the content of our class is in line with the government's Early Years Foundation Stage so people know they are getting a great service.

The classes are 30 minutes long so that they fit in well with a busy parent’s routine. They provide an excellent opportunity to meet new parents and hopefully make some great friends too.
