Our cricket classes for toddlers and preschoolers in North Hertfordshire are run by Ash Patel, who’s been passionate about the game for as long as he can remember.

He first got into cricket after watching the 1999 World Cup. “My mum introduced me to a local cricket club when I was six,” he explains. “My love for the sport just grew from there – and the rest is history!”

Over the years, he’s played for Knebworth Park Cricket Club, represented his county, and still plays locally for Tewin Cricket Club, mainly for the great team spirit and sense of community it brings.

Away from the pitch, Ash has spent nearly 10 years working as a dentist in Welwyn, where he’s built strong relationships with local families and become a familiar, friendly face in the community.

Now, alongside his wife Bhav, he’s bringing Cricket tots to North Hertfordshire. Becoming parents to their son, Samir, inspired them to create something special – a fun, welcoming space where young children can take their first steps into cricket, build confidence, and start to develop a lifelong love for the game.
