Footlights is a multi-award-winning stage school company founded in 2005 by Jo Fisher. Jo started Footlights over twenty years ok as she wanted to offer affordable training to children from deprived areas as well as those from middle income families.

“One of the reasons I started Footlights is because I wanted to engage with young people, take them off the streets, out of the classroom and onto the stage. I also thought I could provide a better service than our competition!”

The Footlights’ mission continues to be to educate, entertain and communicate using performing arts and drama as a tool. We deliver high-quality, specialist teaching in safe, fun and inclusive environments; to ensure that every child, regardless of their background, can fulfil their potential. We offer children and young people opportunities to learn through fun, engaging classes in acting, singing and dance, which teaches them not only performance technique, but also transferable skills which will last a lifetime, building relationships, decision making, critical thinking as well as social mobility.
