Theatretrain Norwich Main Company is our flagship Saturday performing arts programme for children and teenagers aged 6–18, taking place from 10am–1pm at Hellesdon High School.
Each week, students enjoy one hour of acting, one hour of singing and one hour of dance, working with specialist teachers to develop their skills, confidence and creativity.
Students work in age-appropriate groups and no previous experience or audition is required. Whether they are completely new to performing or already love being on stage, Theatretrain provides a friendly and supportive environment where they can learn, make friends and enjoy performing.
Our training covers acting, singing and dance, from drama games, improvisation and scripts to vocal technique, ensemble singing, choreography and different dance styles. Alongside their performing arts skills, students develop confidence, creativity, communication and teamwork. There is no audition to join and no previous experience is needed – students are encouraged to develop at their own pace in a fun and supportive environment.
Performance is a big part of Theatretrain. Students take part in local showcases and performance opportunities, as well as having the opportunity every other year to perform in Theatretrain's large-scale national production at a prestigious professional venue.
We also offer additional experiences including West End-style and stage combat workshops, plus opportunities with Goldmans Management such as screen acting and professional headshots.
During the school holidays, we run additional performing arts workshops at October half term, Easter and during the summer holidays.

Meet Hayley Roberts
Theatretrain Norwich is run by Hayley Roberts, who opened the Norwich centre in 2023. Hayley has an MA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and is passionate about creating a performing arts environment where children and young people can develop their confidence, creativity and skills while genuinely enjoying being part of the company.
Hayley works alongside a team of specialist acting, singing and dance teachers to provide high-quality performing arts training in a friendly and supportive environment.
Theatretrain Norwich welcomes children with a wide range of experience – from those stepping into a performing arts class for the very first time to confident young performers looking to develop their skills further.
