Theatretrain is an established theatre school in Maldon offering acting, singing and dance classes for children and teenagers aged 4–18. We have been running in Maldon for 20 years and are proud to be recognised by the Council for Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre.
Our Saturday performing arts classes in Maldon are taught by qualified, experienced and long-standing teachers in a friendly and supportive environment. Students learn genuine performance skills while developing confidence, creativity, communication, teamwork and self-belief.
Main School students aged 6–18 receive three separate one-hour classes in acting, singing and dancing every Saturday. Theatretrain Minis introduces children aged 4–5 to storytelling, music and movement through an engaging 90-minute session. Our Advanced Musical Theatre class gives students aged 12–18 an additional opportunity to develop their acting, vocal, dance and stagecraft skills.
Children do not need previous experience or natural confidence to join. Every student is encouraged to progress at an appropriate pace, make new friends and discover what they are capable of.
Theatretrain Maldon students enjoy exciting performance opportunities in professional theatres, musical theatre examinations and access to West End masterclasses. Those interested in professional opportunities can also attend workshops with Goldman’s Agency.

Theatretrain Maldon offers much more than weekly acting, singing and dancing classes. Students benefit from a range of exciting additional opportunities designed to develop confidence, broaden their experience and help them understand the professional performing arts industry.
Throughout the year, pupils can take part in West End masterclasses, stage combat sessions, musical theatre examinations and performances in professional theatres. These experiences allow students to put their training into practice, work as part of a company and create lasting memories both on and off the stage.
Students interested in professional opportunities can also attend exclusive workshops with Goldmans Management, Theatretrain’s chosen theatrical agency. These workshops provide professional insight into stage and screen work, including screen acting, auditions and headshots. They also support young people who may be interested in seeking agency representation or pursuing future opportunities in theatre, television and film.

Meet Mark Everard
Mark Everard is the Company Director of Theatretrain Maldon, an established theatre and performing arts school for children and teenagers aged 4–18. Born and raised in Maldon, Mark has spent more than 20 years providing performing arts opportunities for young people within the local community.
Mark holds an HND in Theatre from the University of Kent, a Diploma in Speech and Drama Education and an Associate Diploma in Performance and Theatre from Trinity College London.
Alongside directing Theatretrain Maldon, Mark is Theatretrain’s National Safeguarding Lead. In this role, he supports centres across the UK in maintaining strong safeguarding practice and creating safe, welcoming environments for children and young people.
Mark is also the Coordinator of the Theatretrain National Residential Summer Academy, held annually at the Royal Hospital School. He oversees the residential programme and helps provide young performers from across the Theatretrain network with high-quality training, workshops and performance opportunities.
Outside his professional roles, Mark is a regular theatregoer and remains passionate about the positive effect performing arts training can have on confidence, creativity, communication and personal development.
