Meet Chirag Shah and Matt Stevens
Our cricket classes for toddlers and preschoolers in Macclesfield & Wilmslow are run by local coaches Chirag Shah and Matt Stevens.
Chirag
Chirag has loved cricket since childhood, playing at school and with friends and following the game ever since. Today he coaches at Langley Cricket Club in Cheshire, where he leads the Under 11 team and supports young players as they develop their skills.
He is a proud dad of two boys and is actively involved in the local community, volunteering as a grassroots football coach, Cub Scout Leader and school governor. In 2024 he received an
“Inspired to Play” award after delivering nearly 100 free cricket sessions into local primary
schools.
Chirag is passionate about helping children discover cricket in a fun, welcoming environment
and is excited to introduce local families to Cricket tots.
Matt
Matt started playing cricket at six years old after being inspired by watching Ian Botham. He
went on to play senior cricket at Macclesfield and Langley CC and was part of a league and
cup-winning side for both clubs.
He’s been heavily involved in grassroots cricket for many years. As former Chairman of
Langley Cricket Club, he helped grow the junior section into a thriving community with over 120 young players and multiple teams.
As a father of two, Matt understands the value of sport in building confidence and friendships, and is particularly looking forward helping children build early skills while creating a friendly space for families to connect.
They can’t wait to welcome you and your little one to their classes to start the innings of a
lifetime!
