Meet Kirsty and Tim
We are Tim & Kirsty - pictured with our little girl Izzi, and we are the proud owners and founders of Little Splodgers - a fantastic Arts & Crafts class for children from the age of 12 months upwards.
We have been working in Arts & Crafts in the children’s sector for the past 5 years and have built up a wonderful and supportive community and following in our local area.
We’re super proud of the work we do here in Greenwich and Blackheath and are very proud of what we have managed to achieve in the last 5 years - building up our business, giving us the freedom to express our creativity and passion for teaching, whilst inspiring your little ones to explore and develop their own natural curiosity and creativity.
We live together in the Shooters Hill area with our two daughters, 6yr old Izzi and 21yr old Lilli and our latest addition to the family - Luna (1) our black Labrador who is bringing much joy and madness into our lives!
We have both been involved in the creative arts for many years. With Kirsty having trained at the Italia Conti Academy and then worked as a professional dancer, (where she was part of the Sky Sports Elite dance team - performing regularly at various top-flight Football and Rugby grounds across the UK), and as a dance teacher before moving into the events industry and then into sales.
Tim also trained professionally at Theatre school, (Arts Educational, The Rambert School and Laine Theatre Arts), and has had a long career as a dancer, singer and actor, having performed all over the world, with shows in Germany, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Dubai, Abu-Dhabi, the U.S and as a guest entertainer on board various 5 star Cruise Liners around the world. And in theatres all over the UK including London's West End in shows such as Grease, Joseph, Fame, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, A Chorus Line, The Blues Brothers, The Rocky Horror Show, Mamma Mia and This is Elvis to name a few. He still regularly performs in theatres around the UK as Frank or Dean in The Rat Pack and also as part of the hit touring musical Crooners!
We really love what we do with Little Splodgers! It is a huge privilege to be part of a young child’s early development and it’s something we take seriously.
To be part of a process where when we first meet a child, they might not sit still, or maybe won’t listen, or refuse to engage…. and then in a few short months, they are able to sit and work independently from their parent/carer with focus and with real joy and pride in their work. It really is an amazing process to be part of!
We also know that our classes are quite often the first time in a little one’s life that they are being asked to take instruction or direction from an adult who isn’t one of their parents or direct carers, and we are aware that this can be a big deal. So we aim to create a warm, welcoming environment for everyone - adults and children - where children feel safe and secure. And our reviews will hopefully bear testament to that fact.
As we said, we’re very proud of the work we do here in Greenwich and Blackheath, and this year, as we start to expand a little further afield, we look forward to welcoming many more new families into our classes, to meeting lots of new people in this wonderful community, and inspiring many more little hands and little minds - to explore, to develop and to create!
