Founded in 2005 in Manchester by Jo Fisher, Footlights is a UK network of children's stage schools offering weekly performing arts classes in acting, singing and dancing.
Footlights has grown from a single school in the North West to a nationwide community. We have schools across the UK including locations in London.
At the heart of everything we do is a supportive, inclusive environment where children and young people can build confidence, develop performance skills and feel part of something special. Whether they are stepping on stage for the first time or building on existing experience.
Footlights classes run on Saturday mornings during term time, with some schools running after school classes and many during offering holiday schools.
“Footlights are fantastic. My three children have grown so much in confidence in such a fun and supportive environment. Aydin and Molly are brilliant, so positive, patient, and excellent with the children. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.”

“Nareeya absolutely loves being part of Footlights and is already looking forward to next term with so much excitement. She has had such a wonderful time taking part, and it’s clear how much joy it brings her. Being able to learn, perform, and express herself creatively has been a fantastic experience. What makes it even more special for her is sharing it all with her friends. Spending time together, supporting each other and having fun along the way has made Footlights something she truly treasures. It’s not just an activity, it’s something that builds confidence, friendships, and happy memories. Nareeya can’t wait to go back next term and continue enjoying every moment!”

“My daughter has thrived at Footlights Epsom. The team have been wonderful in tailoring activities to support her needs as a child with autism, helping her develop confidence and new skills. We were overjoyed when she was chosen to lead the end-of-term performance – a truly proud moment. Huge thanks to Aydin and the whole team for their care, patience and encouragement. Highly recommended.”

“My two daughters have been attending Saturday Footlights for over a year now, and the growth in their confidence has been incredible to see. Their love for acting, singing, and dancing has truly blossomed, and they can’t wait for their sessions every week. They love getting the chance to shine in every role they’re given. We’re so grateful we found Footlights. Aydin, Molly, and Izzy are absolutely amazing and my girls are learning so much while having the best time.”

“This is the best holiday school my daughter has ever had. They have well-structured activities and practice for children. It was the first time for my daughter to join musical performance and she loved it. She was only there for three days but she could sing most of the songs already. The best thing to see was the performance on the last day which was stunning.
I wouldn’t know how much potential the children have if they had never joined the Footlights holiday school. Even after months, my daughter is still singing the songs she learnt. We will definitely be back for the next holiday school and are looking forward to the next show.”

My daughter started Footlights this term. And absolutely loves it. Every day she asks me, is it Footlight today. I said maybe next time we could try a different club. But NO! She made it clear she would be coming back to Footlights. She comes out every week bouncing and happy. And talking faster than her words could come out, about what they did that session! So, it’s a 10/10 for us.”

Meet Aydin Mustafa
My name is Aydin, owner of Footlights Epsom. I began performing at age 4 and have an extensive background in the performing arts; my forte is acting, and I am equally confident in singing and dance. I run Footlights because I believe a performing-arts school gives young people confidence, self-belief, and a safe space to express themselves while making lasting friendships. I love welcoming shy new pupils and watching their weekly growth – from hesitant beginnings to singing solos and performing monologues before audiences. In the right environment, with the right nurturing, a child’s potential is limitless. Footlights isn’t just a school to me; it’s a diverse, supportive family, and being part of that family is a beautiful feeling.
