The Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts in Daventry. Our weekend performing arts academy offers an incredible variety of classes, ensuring every young person finds their thing. From getting hands on with professional filmmaking equipment in our Film & TV class, to writing their own stand up comedy shows in Comedy & Drama and learning show-stopping choreography in Musical Theatre. But at PQA Daventry we don’t just prepare your child to flourish on a stage or behind the camera; we equip them with invaluable skills for the everyday scene. But beyond the hustle and bustle of a film set or the stage, what we’re really all about is helping children discover their amazing self. All whilst learning and having fun in a safe and inclusive environment. Our mission is to nurture self-belief, empowering young individuals to discover their unique voice and be proudly visible in every aspect of their lives. PQA Daventry offers everyone aged 4-18 the opportunity to try a full academy session for free. We’d love to welcome you and your child to our academy - see for yourself what a positive impact the performing arts can have!

Meet Olivia Medlock
My passion for performing began at a young age. As a very shy child, I found that Performing Arts gave me the confidence to express myself and become the person I am today. That’s why I truly believe the arts are about so much more than performing on stage. They help children develop confidence, resilience, communication skills, and friendships that last a lifetime. At PQA, we’re one big family, and I can guarantee that our academies are fun, enthusiastic, supportive, and inspiring places where every young performer can thrive.
I studied at De Montfort University before completing my teaching qualification in Birmingham. After graduating, I travelled to America to teach at a summer camp, where I gained invaluable experience working with children from a wide range of backgrounds and directing large-scale productions within tight timeframes.
For the past 16 years, I have successfully run my own independent theatre school, DBA Theatre, alongside entertainment businesses including singing princesses and a Spice Girls tribute act. I have also worked in a variety of schools, specialising in Performing Arts, English, and Special Educational Needs (SEN), giving me extensive experience supporting children with different learning styles and abilities.
Having worked across PQA academies for over 11 years as a team member or cover teacher, I have been fortunate enough to see first-hand the incredible impact PQA has on young people. For the last six years, I have proudly been the Principal of PQA Rugby, watching our students grow in confidence, creativity and ability. I am now incredibly excited to launch PQA Daventry and bring the same opportunities, experiences and sense of community to even more young people. It feels like the perfect next chapter, and I can’t wait to welcome new families into the PQA family.
At PQA Rugby and PQA Daventry, our students don’t just learn to perform, they grow in confidence, build self-esteem, develop communication and teamwork skills, improve speech and language, and strengthen movement and coordination. Along the way, they’ll create unforgettable performances, make incredible films, and, most importantly, have fun while becoming the best version of themselves.
