Meet Caryn Walton-Binns
Hi I’m Caryn, I’ve been with the York branch of Drama Kids for almost 18 years, 11 of them as Principal.
It is my absolute joy to watch children grow in Confidence, Creativity and Performance Skills; to see so many smiles and laughter as they communicate in real life rather than glued to a screen.
I firmly believe that every child needs to be valued and nurtured as an individual – in our classes there is huge encouragement and absolutely no pressure.
The class teacher is LAURA CASTLE
Laura has a MA Community Theatre Degree and a B.A. (Hons) Theatre degree both from York St. John University. She has been teaching with Drama Kids for seven years and is also a well-known and loved presenter with York Mix Radio.
Laura has been involved in drama from a very young age. Recently she has played a police officer in Happy Valley and regularly appears in pantomime at The Joseph Rowntree Theatre - last year she played The Fairy Godmother in Cinderella. She also appeared as Dracula with 41 Monkgate in May 25.
Laura has over 12 years’ experience teaching drama to children from the ages of 3 up to 19. She has an absolute passion for drama and is always amazed at the positive effect drama has had on her and the students she has taught.
Laura is an amazing teacher, who puts a huge amount of effort into preparing and delivering sessions. She aims to bring out the best in every child she teaches, allowing them to progress at their own pace.
