Founded in 2005 in Manchester by Jo Fisher, Footlights is a UK network of children's stage schools offering weekly performing arts classes in acting, singing and dancing.
Footlights has grown from a single school in the North West to a nationwide community. We have schools across the UK including locations in London.
At the heart of everything we do is a supportive, inclusive environment where children and young people can build confidence, develop performance skills and feel part of something special. Whether they are stepping on stage for the first time or building on existing experience.
Footlights classes run on Saturday mornings during term time, with some schools running after school classes and many during offering holiday schools.

Meet Sofia - Director Footlights Nottingham
I am a trained actress and an assessor trainer originally from London. My experience in both professions spans over two decades and has included touring with theatre companies, a London West End production as well as a feature film and short films. My teaching experience includes training young people in functional skills and preparing them for apprenticeships and running drama workshops in various summer schools.
Joining the Footlights Franchise eight years ago has been life changing for me, as I was able to incorporate my love of acting and teaching into enabling children and young people to empower themselves through the creativity of performing arts. Seeing students who came to us with very little belief in themselves transforming into confident and more optimistic individuals makes running our Nottingham school extremely rewarding. Not only do our kids love coming in every Saturday, but they are also learning transferrable skills including teamwork, self- expression and assertiveness, which will equip them for the future.
