Empower Arts provides dynamic performing art classes for ages 18months-18 years.
Our ethos is 'Perform, Transform and Unleash Power'. We do this by leading drama and imaginative play classes, helping young people to come out of their comfort zones and become a more powerful version of themselves.
Super Bears is our introductory youth theatre programme for ages 4-7 years. Once they start school, this is this the perfect programme for them to learn performance skills, have fun and play.
Our lessons are more structured in this class, but the youngsters work more independently than our preschool classes. Each term there is a different theme that we explore such as Roald Dahl, fairytales or In the jungle and all our games, songs, scripted work, devising and speech relate to that theme.
Our weekly drama classes for ages 8-12 are fun filled and action packed combining learning with lots of games, speech work, movement, devising and scripted work.
Our lesson plans are highly original. The theme of our lessons change every half term, with topics such as Greek Myths and Legends, Physical Theatre and Fables. Every session has a theme and all the games, skills, activities and theatre making are linked to that theme. The lesson follows the same format every week so our students know what to expect.
Our oldest performers class is for secondary school students aged 11-18. Each class is jam packed with games, skills based activities, improvisation and devising. Our classes focus more on attention to detail as well as having fun, students are expected to perform at a slightly more professional level using the knowledge they have.
During our classes, our members learn lots of different skills each week to not only help them excel in school but also in everyday life, these include confidence building, speech and language, teamwork, concentration, coordination and physical development.
