I’m Joanne and I’m really excited to be joining The Phonics Fox team!
I’m a qualified primary teacher, specialising in art, and prior to that I worked in an Early Years setting with babies up to preschoolers. For the last few years I’ve been a full time mum raising my two gorgeous boys.
I’ve always had a real passion for teaching reading and writing, and I’m so happy to be instilling this in my boys as they now both love reading stories and are forever asking for “one more book”. When my son Harrison first started showing an interest in letters and sounds I began taking him to The Phonics Fox classes, and we both loved attending the classes together for nearly two years - practising sounds, making crafts, getting messy and having fun! He is now preparing to start reception in September and he loves reading books to his baby brother and writing his own little stories... normally about zoo animals or six-armed aliens!
I truly believe that parents are their child’s first (and most important) teachers and that by encouraging a love for reading and developing your child’s confidence and imagination, you are giving them the best head start possible into education.
