Richard Robinson is a best-selling author, and director of the Brighton Science Festival and Pocket Science Funfair is on tour to your living room!
The Zoom-in-a-room sessions include videos of each chapter, Powerpoint presentations, games, chat, Q&A, and experiments around the themes (see below), plus extra links to other useful videos, delivered afterwards.
The series gives an overview of how everything is connected: how the universe began, 14 billion years ago, how the elements were created, how the Earth formed, how life started, how evolution works, how humans emerged and ranged over the planet and why, sometimes, the world seems a bit wonky.
The attending adult and participants will be invited to ask questions throughout. Questions and answers are the best bit!
Thursdays April 16th – May 21st 2026 – 4.00 – 5.00pm

Meet Richard Robinson
Richard has curated Half term activities since he set up the Brighton Science Festival 17 years ago. Richard set a high standard, having learned the science at university, the delivery in street theatre, the joy in parenthood, the need in school visits, and the satisfaction in the Brighton Science Festival. He selects presenters who share his values, and do it better!
