Dimples in the Woods is a unique woodland stay and play Forest School where you and your child can explore the outdoors together. Dimples in the Woods provides an enchanted environment where you and your little one can discover wildlife together, get creative with craft and enjoy stories around the fire. It provides opportunities for your child to experience the wonders of nature and enjoy these precious discoveries with you by their side.


Each 90 minute session is guided by our Dimples Forest School Leader. Our fully qualified forest teacher has over 30 years experience delivering outdoor education and forest schooling across the world. We base our six week forest school courses around the seasons, starting with Spring on the 13th April 2021. The courses are available for 2-5 year olds on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.


In small groups of six, the three daily sessions based in private woodland in Hildenborough, offer a fantastic post lockdown experience that will create lifelong memories for all generations attending.


Here are some of the activities you can expect from our Spring Forest School sessions:


What is in the dirt? – exploring what we find in the soil.
Planting seeds, nurturing them as they grow and hopefully eating the produce!
Making mobiles from nature - collecting natural resources and making them into mobiles
Painting with stone – using stones to paint pictures.
Observing plants and wildlife – being aware of what is growing
Playing in the mud kitchen- making pies and using pastry cutters.
Visiting musical corner - playing music on the trees, using homemade drumsticks.
Woodland games – the list is endless!
Making wooden animals – rabbits, ducks, hedgehogs and pigs.
Leaf printing – using hammers and cloth.
Building a bug hotel – helping the tiny creatures who live in the woods.
Playing with clay - making whatever your imagination tells you to.
