Meet kim Pott (MA, BSc, PGCE, PTLLS)
I have the privilege and joy of being the Director & Founder of UK based Funky Feet Music and Kimble's Music & Movement. Over the last 16 years, I have shaped my practice to support young children in both body and brain development using music. Developing award-winning music and teacher guides that are easily implemented using multi-sensory resources that encourage meaningful movement and short, simple repeated phrases to support language.
My expertise in this field of knowledge has been built from research from my master's degree, The Institute for Neuro Physiological Psychology (INPP) but mostly from my reflection on teaching/facilitating 1000's of children and practitioners in a variety of schools and settings.
Through my workshops, I aim to provide educators with the tools and knowledge for children to develop skills that help them to fulfill their potential. To enable this we as educators need to provide more opportunities for children to move, and through music and play, I believe this will enhance and expand children's enjoyment of the world around them.
Using our own original music which is made up of catchy melodies, simple repeated phrases and echo songs with actions allows both adults and children to learn very quickly. Our songs and activities cover all the bases for EYFS/KS1.
Each age-appropriate activity is carefully chosen to support children learning to control the movement of body parts and encourage midline crossing, building the brain as well as stimulating the vestibular and proprioceptive sense.
As an international trainer, I share knowledge and skills with educators of young children through workshops that can be tailored to suit our customers' needs.
