Description

FIRST CLASS FREE
We offer classes for pre-schoolers, children and even teens. We also host special event workshops, birthday parties and classes within schools and the community.

The staff at Cook Stars take care of all the preparation so make it easy for our Cook Stars to simply come along and enjoy our classes. All ingredients, cooking equipment, an apron, packaging and cooking know-how is provided! Everyone takes home their lovely dish along with a recipe card to cook again at home. We even see to the dreaded clearing away and washing up!

Here at Cook Stars we want our classes to be accessible to everyone, that's why our classes are affordable and offer fantastic value. As well as providing everything you'll need to cook we also treat children to a craft activity to keep them entertained during cooking time!

At our classes, there's lots of opportunity to experiment with different preparation methods....weighing, measuring, shape cutting, decorating, rolling and much more! We learn about different ingredients, try new foods and develop useful life skills.

Cook Stars believe the secret to pleasurable learning is though 'play' so our classes are friendly, relaxed and fun. We keep our class sizes small to tailor our support and encourage individuals whilst we cook up a wide range of delicious dishes.

We look forward to welcoming you along to our classes and hope you love them as much as we do.

Carrie-Ann Elmer

Meet Carrie Ann Elmer

Hi my name is Carrie Ann and I am running the cook stars classes for Rossendale and Blackburn.

My inspiration for joining cook stars began with my little girl Heidi who is 2 and is into everything, especially anything that mummy does! She eats very well but I still want her to grow up with a love of cooking and an eagerness to learn. Since I started to cook with Heidi I have realised that there are so many skills that baking and preparing food develops. Not only does it help children develop patience (Heidi always has to have a taste as we are going along!), counting and measuring skills, language skills, prediction... the list goes on!

I am a qualified Primary school teacher with 20 years experience and I love working with children of all ages. I have spent periods of time also volunteering and then working for Childline, Waterstones (I love books!) and in Sure start children's centres.

I am looking forward to meeting lots of new faces at our classes - I'm sure we will be able to cook up a treat together! See you soon.
