Meet Kelly Akister

Qualifications- Qualified Reading Fairy Class Leader for over 2 years. QTS- Qualified Teacher Status BA Hons (First Class) in Advanced Early Years Education. BTEC National Diploma in Early Years Education. NVQ Teaching Assistant Certificate.

Experience- Previous to Reading Fairy I was a Primary Teacher at a local school in Bare, Morecambe. I have taught in Reception, Year 1 and Year 3. During my teaching career I have been both Early Years and Phonics Leader. Teaching phonics and early reading skills has always been a strength and passion of mine.

While on maternity leave (my daughter is now 4 years old) I attended Baby Sensory classes. These were a highlight of our week and I loved the bonding experience alongside opportunities for enjoyment, wonder and learning. While attending these class I heard about the Reading Fairy program which had been recently purchased by the WOW world group. After searching on the internet I was disappointed to see the nearest classes were in York. After more research I knew that Reading Fairy was not only the perfect class for my daughter but also my ideal career. I've been running classes since September 2019 and I completely love my job! I am excited to share the experience with you all.
