Our online Joeys sessions are for children ages 4 to 6 who are just starting out on their singing journey. They love to explore sounds and are eager to be creative with their voices.
Simple communication happens every day from the moment we are born. All too soon language formation can create barriers and we can find it hard to express ourselves. Luckily, music is there to aid that expression, through the power of singing.
Using fun, engaging songs we help the young singers to explore their voices. Joeys love to sing and go on adventures, simply letting the magic happen.
Listen – learn – sing – explore…
These are the steps the Joeys go through when learning their songs. This encourages them to explore vocal sounds and to use their imagination. Often, the creative ideas continue even after the session is finished!
Joeys are also introduced to basic musical elements such as beat, rhythm, dynamics and tempo through our songs and musical activities.
They share their voices when they are ready and learn to experience the sounds of others.
It’s all about the love of singing at this age.

Our online singing sessions are very unique. We have found that so many young children actually prefer online singing as it removes the 'fear of performing'. They can learn to use their voice and start their journey of confidence without worrying about what others are doing/sounding like etc. Online singing has removed all the barriers that were there before and really help some young kids to excel at all things verbal.

Meet Sue Ross
Sue is the director and founder of Choirs4Kids, a place that boosts children’s confidence and joy whilst decreasing isolation, anxiety, fear and depression.
Sue founded Choirs4Kids in 2016 after seeing her daughter’s delight when singing and realising that many children are either too young to join their school choir, or the school does not have a choir. She has over twenty years of experience leading choirs and a unique knack of instilling a love of singing in everyone she meets!
Since 2020, Sue has transformed the business, taking it to a new level and now reaching young people all over the world. The weekly ‘online’ sessions massively boost children’s confidence. They are in their own comfortable surroundings with friends or family around them, and of course the family pet can sing too!
She excels in helping young people find their confidence through her absolute focus on each individual. Sue is so much more than a singing teacher. She has a vast experience of helping children become more confident in many areas of their lives. As Sue works with these children, she helps them realise their vocal potential, giving them the power to believe in their own voice.
On a personal level Sue loves to perform in local theatre groups and adult choirs. She has a Bachelor of Education in Music and Sport, ABRSM examinations in Piano, Violin & Flute, Estill Voice Training and is an Embodima graduate. She is a registered teacher with a valid Working with Children Card and National Police Clearance.
