Meet Lucy Sills BA (Hons) First Class ProfGCE (DET) Principal
Lucy's first taste of dance came aged three, at her local ballet school. Passionate about performing, Lucy went on to train at the prestigious Urdang Academy, graduating with a First Class BA (Hons) in Professional Dance and Musical Theatre.
Lucy's professional performance credits include the UK Tour of A Christmas Carol and the European premiere of Cole Porter's Jubilee, where she also acted as dance captain. Since 2013 Lucy has performed regularly as a soprano for the Polka Dots, a 1940s vintage trio, including performances at the BBC Good Food Festival, Epsom Races and the Enfield Pageant.
Lucy went on to become an Animateur and Learning & Participation Coordinator at the world renowned Rambert, where she developed and delivered the company’s Arts Award programme as well as teaching Rambert repertoire and choreography in schools and colleges.
Lucy taught ballet at the Urdang Academy on the associates programme as well as being cover teacher on the diploma and degree courses. In 2014 Lucy became a Performing Arts Lecturer at Uxbridge College leading the Level 3 dance course, as well as designing the Level 2 UAL performing arts course.
Lucy became Principal and co-owner of CK Theatre School in 2016 where she has overseen a range of developments including the introduction of Contemporary dance classes, entries to regional dance competitions, multiple wins at the Watford Speech & Drama Festival, and four full school productions. Lucy has always been passionate about teaching and sharing her love of the performing arts with young people and is thrilled to be able to inspire the wonderful students at CKTS.
