Description

Join Mrs Tickly Toe’s for a baby reflexology tutorial class, teaching parent’s basic reflexology techniques to help with teething, colic, sleep, growing, bonding and nurtured development. A great first class for babies 6 weeks and over to learn regfexology and support the bond with your new arrival. Partners or grandparents welcome.
Refreshments provided and a friendly and supportive environment awaits you. The class is split into parts so babies do not have to stay still for the full 90 minutes and individual niggles can be addressed in the session. Breastfeeding, bottle feeding and stinky bums welcome. This is a very relaxed class where baby comes first, but hot drinks and cake are essential. I can't wait to meet you and your little family. Meet Heather

Mrs Tickly Toes provides reflexology for Adults and children using the techniques and principles of reflexology to help ease diagnosed medical conditions, stress and trauma. Based in Chaddesden, Derby.
I use reflexology to support with a number of health and well-being conditions alongside my many years as a psychologist working with Children. Reflexology is a gentle, non-invasive complementary therapy which uses mirroring on the feet or hands with parts of the body known as reflexes. Manipulation of these points with gentle pressure on specific reflexes can promote healing for the client and has a variety of health benefits such as balance and relaxation. Reflexology can be supportive to the wellbeing of people with many different conditions.

My story began when I was working with looked after children and young people who were struggling to cope with a prospective diagnosis but who had no understanding of their 'label' and no ownership or tools in their toolkit to help them feel better. Lots of the young people I was supporting were on a waiting list for mental health assessment and had been for some time. Whilst waiting the adults around them had no techniques to support them and the young people had no way of self treating; they were in an endless continuum waiting for some support. So I decided to train as a reflexologist in order to share simple coping techniques with these children and young people to help in their journey to well-being and to relieve stress and trauma.

I have a background in education and have found that many of the children I supported were overwhelmed by the stress and anxiety of modern education- struggling to find their identity, playing to their strengths and dealing with all the stress and anxiety that being a young person in education can bring.
So I decided there must be another less intrusive way than counselling, a more supportive way than a diagnosis and a simple way that young people can take ownership of the issues that face them, so I wrote the Mrs Tickly Toes school programme to help children and young people to move forward without the help of adults or a piece of paper that defines them.
The workshops I have designed can be delivered in school (primary and secondary) as a class workshop, or one to one. However the best response has been to the group sessions held in and around Derby.

I treat adult clients in my home practice and run regular baby reflexology classes that help to promote the new bond you have with your baby, encourage nurtured development and can help with issues such as sleep, colic and general well-being.
When I signed up for the course I wasn’t a mum myself; but I gave birth to my Daughter 3 weeks before I started my training; this has also inspired me to treat babies and support new parents with techniques to help and treat all the little niggles we experience with a new born.

I hope you like the sound of my journey and perhaps you will be part of the next phase. If you have any questions I would love to hear from you or come and join me at one of my events in Derby; you can find the details of these events by liking and following me on isntagram @mrsticklytoes or via my website https://www.mrsticklytoes.co.uk/
