We are a 5* rated affordable drama school for children aged 4 to 18 years old giving students the opportunity to engage in theatre and performance in its many forms.
Little Rascals (infant School) - Our Little Rascals class is a great introduction to world of performance and theatre. We use the power of storytelling and imagination to be at the heart of our classes and for our little ones we do this through encouraging them to create their own stories and characters through play, games and craft. We perform 2 showcases each year in a professional theatre space.
Rebels (School Year 7 - 11) - The classes for Secondary School students helps to not only build performance skills but also enhances confidence, teamwork skills and creative thinking skills which we believe benefits all areas of learning. This is done through the guidance of our experience drama facilitators who focus on different areas of theatre and introduce this new learning via fun drama games and exercises. We also rehearse for a show each year which is performed in a professional theatre space.
Miscreants (School Year 9 -13) This drama class is for all abilities and gives our students the change to develop their acting skills via specific masterclass terms where we learn about different theatre styles. We also spend time rehearsing for a show. It is a chance to work with like-minded young people once a week who share the same passion for theatre. A wonderful chance to make new friends and learn new skills. We perform one main show each year in a professional theatre space.

Meet Claire Moulds
Claire graduated from University of West of England with a First Class Drama Degree. She formed Bristol Academy of Drama to introduce children to all genres of performance. She has a wealth of theatre experience, both professional and non professional, both on and off stage. She is an award winning actress and has enjoyed critical success as a director and producer. She has worked as a Key Stage 3 Drama Teacher as well as a freelance LAMDA teacher at Bristol Grammar School prior to starting BAD.
Claire says about BAD "It is an wonderful to see the joy that children get from performing. They overcome their fears, they make new friends and really benefit from all the skills that drama brings them. It really is such a powerful tool in their development."
Claire's favourite drama game is "Why are you late" ... a brilliant game involving improvisation, teamwork, creativity and communication skills. She tells us she has hooted with laughter so many times watching everyone try to act out ridiculous reasons for being late!
Claire told us that there are so many wonderful wonderful pieces of theatre that inspired her to go into performance. Some of them are just memorable moments within a play, some are a brilliant portrayal and some are wonderful writing but the one that encapsulates them all for me is Emelia by Morgan Lloyd Malcom.
