Description

Performing Arts summer camp for children aged 4-7yrs.

If your child loves to sing, dance, act and perform, this is the holiday club for them!!

Run by West End performers, with an experienced and dedicated faculty, you can be sure your child will have a blast whilst meeting new friends and learning new skills.

Other Info

We offer termly classes and are currently enrolling for the main school if interested in finding a weekly class.

Meet Alicia Afonso

Alicia trained at the Elizabeth Hill School of Dance and Drama in Merseyside, before taking a 3 year vocational course at Phil Winston’s Theatreworks.

After performing professionally in London’s West End for 8 years, Alicia is now the Principal and owner of Afonso School of Performing Arts Ltd, based in Berkhamsted and has most recently worked for Belinda King Productions as lead show teacher, teaching and directing the shows on the Seabourn and Princess cruise ships. She was also assistant casting director for the company.

With over 20 years of teaching experience, Alicia holds 5 Licentiate and 4 Fellowship teaching qualifications with the IDTA and is proud to have won three IDTA teaching awards including the Arthur J. Gallagher Bursary in 2014, as well as the John Knight Award for both Fellowship Theatre Craft and Modern Jazz. The IDTA have also nominated Alicia for the Carl Alan teacher award for Theatre for 2025.

Previously a full-time faculty member at Jelli Studios Theatre Arts College where she trained student teachers, as well as the Btec and HND courses. She is also certified with Acrobatic Arts and Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT).

Her professional credits include June in Chicago the Musical, Garrick Theatre, London; ensemble and swing in We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre, London; Liz in Chicago the Musical UK tour; dance captain in Dick Whittington at the Derngate Theatre, Northampton; ensemble in West End Rocks, Reading; ensemble in Cinderella, Bristol Hippodrome and Northampton.

As a child, Alicia was a championship dancer and is proud to have held the following titles:

Runner-up Miss Dance of Great Britain in 2002 & 2003
Winner IDTA Theatre Awards, Modern Jazz Performers Section
Winner of IDTA Ken Dodd Tap Award
Winner of the Janet Cram Awards, Premier Section

English and British Senior Modern Champion
Runner-up Star Tap Awards (Senior section)
