Meet Laura McHale

Laura is a visionary educator with a profound dedication to nurturing young minds and fostering creativity. Laura grew up in the West of Ireland and has had a passion for the arts and literature from a very young age. Starting Speech and Drama lessons at the age of 4, Laura's early training laid the groundwork for her future endeavours. She graduated with a distinction from the esteemed Leinster School of Speech and Drama at the age of 18.

Laura pursued her higher education in Dublin, where she studied English and Theology graduating with a Bachelor of education degree. She then went on to complete a masters in Education with leadership and management. She moved to the UK in 2014 and started her career as an English teacher in a Secondary school. Currently teaching English up to A-Level and serving as the head of the GCSE English department in a South West London school, Laura brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role.

Laura's passion for Education led her to co-found the Ellendel School, where she serves as principal. Here, she is deeply involved in the day-to-day operations and teaching of classes across Ellendel's London schools and Online. Laura's commitment to education extends beyond the classroom as she continually seeks to enhance her skills and knowledge. She has completed specialised training in Speech development for young people and wellness training to support confidence and self esteem in students. Her qualifications in SEN teaching, English as an additional language, and drama therapy contribute to the inclusive and bespoke curriculum offered at Ellendel.
