At Jigsaw Performing Arts Balham, we offer dance, drama, singing and so much more! We create a space where children can find a place to belong. With over 22 years of experience and a passion for nurturing young people, our weekend classes for 3–18 year olds are full of energy, imagination, and joy. Every session is a chance for your child to grow in confidence, make friends, and explore their creative spark in a structured, and supportive environment. It’s not all about the final performance with us… it’s about the journey to get there. From the moment they step through the door, your children are encouraged to explore their imaginations, build confidence, and grow… not just as performers, but as people.
Students at Jigsaw are divided into age appropriate groups. Classes of 3-4-year-olds and 5-6-year-olds take part in 90 minute sessions with a specialist performing arts tutor. Main school sessions are three hours, an hour each of dance class, singing class and drama class. Students are split into age groups of 7-8-year-olds, 9-11-year-olds, 12-14 and 15+.
Jigsaw offer a two week trial to give students a real taste of the experience we offer at our weekend performing arts schools. We believe that over this two week period they will get a clear idea as to whether this is something for them and it gives you peace of mind that you're committing to something your child thoroughly enjoys.
Come along and give it a go!
Jigsaw has a team of dedicated and enthusiastic professionals who are committed to delivering fun and exciting dance, drama and singing classes. Our teachers work in the performing arts industry and have passed our rigorous training programme and have a DBS check.
Every student can benefit, in some way, from the performing arts. While some join us to build a firm foundation for a professional performance career, others do so to unlock their hidden talents, overcome their shyness or increase their confidence and social skills. However, what all students enjoy is having fun through drama, singing and dance classes, while making lots of new friends.

Meet Emily
Leading the way is our manager, Emily, who’s been part of the Jigsaw family since 2014. With years of experience and a genuine love for what she does, she helps make Jigsaw Balham a welcoming and inspiring place for everyone. Originally from Yorkshire, Emilys’ love of the performing arts began when she was just 2 years old. Emily went on to train at SLP College, studying professional musical theatre. Emily has over 15 years experience working with young people and teaching performing arts. As an advocate to accessible and inclusive arts practice, Emily completed her MA in Applied Theatre at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2018. Emily has had the pleasure of being with Jigsaw Arts since 2013, becoming the manager of Balham in 2018. In 2021, Emily was thrilled to take over Jigsaw Arts Management, Jigsaw’s very own Theatre and TV agency. She believes that Jigsaw Arts provides a place where young people can experience and access high level arts that are delivered in a fun and structured environment.
